WPO AIX-LES-BAINS 2026: Julien Acher Takes a Commanding Chip Lead in Main Event Day 1A

In an electric atmosphere in Aix-les-Bains, Day 1A of the WPO Main Event came to a close with 386 entries and 63 players advancing, all of them already guaranteed to finish in the money.

It took until the very last hands to determine the 63 survivors from a particularly action-packed DAY 1A of the WPO Aix-les-Bains Main Event. With 386 entries recorded for this opening flight, the atmosphere around the tables remained electric right up until the bubble finally burst.

The bubble actually produced two casualties: Florent Colin and Benjamin Cottin, who were eliminated simultaneously just short of qualification. For the remaining 63 players, the mission is doubly accomplished: they have secured their seats for Day 2 and are now guaranteed to finish in the money.

And nobody made more of this opening flight than Julien Archer. With 1,191,000 chips, the only player to break the symbolic one-million mark, he finished the day with a commanding chip lead. Amilcar Marty (861,000) and Titas Gancierius (850,000) complete the provisional podium, just ahead of Julien Gadanho (804,000).

These first 63 qualifiers can now breathe a sigh of relief: they will join the survivors from the other starting flights on Saturday, September 26 from 12:00 p.m. for DAY 2, with every returning player already guaranteed to be in the money.
