Two men, including Grégoire Auzoux, are accused of running an illegal online casino specifically targeting French players. The site is said to have generated nearly €1 billion since 2021.

Two men have been placed in pre-trial detention for running an illegal online casino called “Crésus Casino”, which is believed to have generated nearly one billion euros in revenue since 2021, according to Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau

Among the two men arrested is Grégoire Auzoux, a well-known poker player who has already accumulated over $3,000,000 in live tournament winnings!

The site, operated from Curaçao and Cyprus, had no authorization to offer gambling services in France. Despite multiple administrative blocks, the administrators repeatedly relaunched it using new web addresses, sent to clients via SMS.

Highly questionable practices

This casino specifically targeted French players, accounting for over one million visits per month. Recruitment was mainly carried out through two YouTube channels, one of which had 900,000 subscribers. There were also France-based employees handling marketing.

Several players filed complaints, claiming they were never able to withdraw their winnings. According to investigators, profits from this operation could reach 350 million euros

An international operation coordinated by Eurojust led to searches and asset seizures, particularly in Cyprus, where the two main suspects were residing.
