The French came close to a major performance in the $10,000 Mystery Bounty at the Triton One Jeju, the series of "reasonable" buy-in tournaments preceding the "real" Triton, which will begin in about ten days. 237 players tried their luck in this popular event, which proved successful for the French, but even more so for the women, as three of them reached the final table! And not just any women, since Thi Xoa Nguyen was accompanied by Kristen Foxen (world number 1) and Ebony Kenney, a Triton regular with solid credentials...

It was the Frenchwoman who had the best final, even managing to reach the heads-up, where she was the favorite, having started with the biggest stack. Unfortunately for her, the eventual winner, Xiaqing Ji, benefited from a bit of luck to secure the victory. With her runner-up spot, the excellent Thi Xoa Nguyen takes home $155,000, plus the four mystery envelopes that will be opened today. She's ahead of Kristen Foxen, who adds $116,000 to her incredible haul (and six envelopes), while Hugues Girard finishes in a fine fourth place ($94,000 and five bounties). As for the winner, Xiaqing Ji, he takes the lion's share with $245,000 and six envelopes.
