He had already made history in 2018, and now he’s rewriting it in 2025. Shaun Deeb confirms himself as the king of consistency at the WSOP, proving that 2025 is once again his year!
A Champion with Titanic Volume

The verdict is in: Shaun Deeb is the 2025 WSOP Player of the Year, a crowning achievement that rewards a phenomenal season in which the American dominated the leaderboard thanks to his remarkable consistency. Already victorious in 2018, Deeb becomes only the second player in history, after Daniel Negreanu, to win this prestigious award twice.
With 4,194 points accumulated, he narrowly edged out England’s Benny Glaser (4,153 points), who still captured three bracelets this year. The podium is completed by Michael Mizrachi (3,805 points), winner of the Main Event and four-time Poker Players Championship champion, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the end of the festival. A trio that truly dominated the summer.
But Deeb didn’t stumble into this title. 24 cashes, five final tables, and one bracelet in a historic event: the first-ever $100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. Most notably, he took home a record-setting prize of $2,957,229, the largest ever awarded in a PLO tournament.
In addition to that, he also finished runner-up three times: in the $1,500 Razz, the $600 Online Monster Stack, and the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em. He also took third place in the $10,000 PLO8 Championship for $348,304. A scorching summer, to say the least.
On social media, Deeb acknowledged his rivals Martin Kabrhel and Benny Glaser for their fierce battle until the very last event. To those questioning his title — arguing that Mizrachi or Glaser were more deserving — he answered plainly: “Everyone got what they earned.” It’s hard to disagree.
The 2025 record confirms Shaun Deeb’s unique stature in the global poker scene. At 39, he now owns seven bracelets, over $4 million earned this summer, and a well-deserved place among the game’s all-time greats.
