The Monegasque Main Event is beating all records for attendance and tension. The race for the million euros is on, and it's all going to come down to the wire.

Two big blinds. That’s all that separates the top three heading into a Day 3 that promises fireworks. In the magical setting of the Monte-Carlo Sporting Club, the message is clear: this is no longer about surviving—it's about becoming a legend.

A trio on top, maximum pressure, and a million at stake

Jérémie Beneteau, the top-performing Frenchman at the end of Day 2!

The curtain rose on a thrilling Day 2, as 448 players returned hoping to grab a piece of the prize pool. Out of 1,195 total entries—the second-largest turnout in Monte-Carlo EPT history—only 175 would make the money. The minimum cash? €8,500. But the ultimate goal is something else entirely: a jackpot of €1,000,000 awaits the future champion.

Italian player Andreas Goeller stood out with a brilliant call against Antoine Saout in a massive pot, launching him into the lead with 831,000 chips. But his pursuers are right on his heels: Jérémie Beneteau bags 829,000, while Mariusz Golinski follows with 820,000. One hand could completely reshuffle the deck as soon as Day 3 begins.

The 2024 champion, Derk van Luijk, saw his hopes for back-to-back wins vanish just before the bubble burst. On the other hand, several former EPT winners are still in contention: Sebastian Malec (395,000 chips), Patrik Antonius (227,000 chips), and Dimitar Danchev (163,000 chips) are all looking to go deep.

A key moment to close the day: the money bubble burst. England’s Ian Gascoigne busted on a tricky flop against Conor Beresford, who held a crushing set of fours. The room erupted. The tournament entered another dimension.

The last remaining PokerStars ambassador is Kenny Hallaert (83,000 chips). His colleague Benjamin Spragg had to settle for a min-cash, going out in 155th place. Among the notables still in the field are Hungary’s Andras Nemeth (400,000 chips), Argentina’s Nacho Barbero (282,000 chips), and France’s Cesar Garcia (212,000 chips), the Day 1B chip leader.

Meanwhile, the Day 1A chip leader, David Docherty, saw his tournament collapse after a key hand against Qing Lu. He finished in 226th place.

A total of 27 French players are still dreaming of EPT glory in Monte-Carlo 2025. Leading the pack is Jérémie Beneteau with a massive stack of 829,000, firmly positioned at the top.

Right behind him: Nicolas Tytgat (559,000), Arnaud Enselme (498,000), Frédéric Popot (480,000), and Malcolm Franchi (438,000) round out a solid French Top 5, ready to battle.

Also still in the running: Julien Veyssiere (415,000), Jean Cristiani (402,000), Pierre Chevalier (380,000), Romain Locquet (373,000), and Jérémie Zouari (323,000), all well-positioned for a deep run.

In the mid-tier of the French leaderboard:

Alexandre Landron (305,000), Antoine Labat (271,000), Benoît Lam (256,000), Adrien Favre-Felix (238,000), Dimitri Joubert (224,000), Julien Mariani (216,000), Ewen Trevidy (194,000), and Nicolas Vayssieres (162,000).

Still alive, despite shorter stacks:

Samuel Baruk (159,000), Didier Barthe (152,000), Arthur Emig (138,000), Rony Halimi (130,000), Alexis Leclair (124,000), Laurent Cessy (118,000), Samir Rahal (113,000), Mikael Guenni (73,000), and Nicolas Oger (66,000).

A strong and diverse French contingent, still very much in the hunt. The blue dream is alive and well.

Next stage: Wednesday, May 7 at 12:00 PM, with blinds at 2,000/5,000/5,000 and five 90-minute levels on the schedule. For fans, PokerStars TV will begin streaming at 12:30 PM on YouTube and Twitch.

The Mediterranean sparkles, the chips clatter... and the dream of a million euros has never felt so real.
