Yesterday saw the start of the EPT Monte-Carlo festival, broadcast live from the Salle aux Etoiles, the world's most famous poker venue. Here's a first look at the first emotions in Monaco !

Between the PokerStars Open Main Event, the €10,200 Mystery Bounty, and the Hyper Turbo Freezeout, the highly anticipated 2025 EPT Monte Carlo kicked off yesterday in the iconic Salle des Étoiles — and it already promises to be one of the premier poker showcases of the 2025 season.

The festival began on April 30 with Day 1A and Day 1B of the €1,100 PokerStars Open Main Event, attracting a total of 751 entries over the first two flights. Action resumed on May 1st with Day 1C, which saw an additional 854 entries, with late registration closing at 7:40 p.m. on this Labor Day.

In the Mystery Bounty, high-stakes enthusiasts came out in force with 91 entries building a prize pool of €427,700. Among them: Winamax Team Pro player Julien Sitbon, once again battling in the elite fields.

As for trophies, the first to make headlines was Japan’s Reiji Kono, who claimed victory in the Event #3 Hyper Turbo Freezeout (€550 buy-in) for a first-place prize of €13,430, out of a total prize pool of €64,800 and 135 entries.
