With this second victory rewarded with $529,250, the American is the big winner of the tournament series.

Having already won Event #5 four days earlier for $220,400, Shannon Shorr did even better by winning the final tournament of the U.S. Poker Open, the most prestigious, Event #8, a $25,200 event contested by 73 participants. This victory came at the expense of Nacho Barbero, who earned his second runner-up spot of the festival with a $346,750 prize, demonstrating his talent, with or without GTO Wizard. Landon Tice took third place, while Nick Petrangelo and Justin Saliba added a finalist spot to their respective tallies.
