New tournaments, new players, new pleasures!

For some time now, new poker circuits have been popping up all over the world, particularly in France, where, for once, the country is displaying impressive dynamism. Here's a look at a plethora of exciting offerings...

French Championships, National Poker Series, Grand Prix Parions Sport, SunRaise Poker Challenge, Shark Bay, MegaPoker Festival, European Championship of Poker, PokerStars Open, Riviera, not to mention the WSOP Paradise, whose second edition was a resounding success, new circuits have multiplied over the past year and a half, accompanying the incredible growth of live poker around the world, and of course in France.

The organizers' overflowing imagination, coupled with ever-increasing demand from players and casinos, always delighted to see hordes of new customers flocking to their establishments, has resulted in a profusion of new circuits. We could also add to these reasons online poker operators, who are not the last to launch their own circuits or support a new one, attracted by a little more notoriety and even more so by the possibility of satellites being played on their platform.

Even more tournaments, even more players?

A movement that shows no signs of slowing down, given the significant, sustained, and varied demand. Around the poker tables, you'll find young and old, amateurs and professionals, live players and online players alike. The number of women is also increasing, slowly so far, but this could finally change with the steady arrival of numerous players (male and female) from community clubs and, of course, thanks to Queen's Squad, Cécile Ticherfatine's initiative. Significantly increasing the number of women is the most important lever for development in the poker world.

The recent reopening of Parisian clubs at the end of February should further accelerate things, as these establishments are understandably eager to work harder to recover some cash and, even more so, to satisfy a clientele that has been deprived of poker for nearly two months. In short, tournament poker is thriving, and the industry's major players are doing what is necessary to remain dynamic and best meet player expectations.

New circuits appearing in 2024:

National Poker Series (designed by Texapoker with the support of Winamax): Launched for the first time in late January at the Pasino Grand in Aix-en-Provence, this new festival is structured around five "Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten" tournaments with different entry fees and formats. A leaderboard is established, qualifying the highest-ranked players for the WSOP-C Main Event, held at the Pasino Grand in April.

GrandPrix Parions Sport online, the FDJ circuit with Texapoker: Launched in 2024, this newcomer continues its journey with seven stops this year. The circuit offers very affordable tournaments with entry fees ranging from €100 to €300 and various formats (freezeout, progressive knockout, PLO, and a €600 High Roller).

SunRaise Poker Challenge (designed by PokerStars): another newcomer that was launched in 2025. Four stages are expected to be contested in each of the four major regions of France, with low-buy-in tournaments (between €100 and €250). A unique feature of the SRPC is the interaction between live and online events, facilitated by numerous satellites.

SharkBay: a great success for the Texapoker and EuroRounders duo, starting in August 2024 at the Pasino Grand in Aix, with tournaments for sharks, young and old, including a €400 Main Event and side events starting at €100.

European Championship of Poker: With this new competition, Texapoker intends to take a step forward with a European outlook. While Paris was supposed to kick things off in January, Rozvadov, then San Remo and Barcelona will host the festival. Europe requires higher buy-ins, with a €1,000 Main Event and side events ranging from €350 to €1,500. A BRM time trial will reward the winners.

NutsR Poker Festival: A festival created by the prestigious academy, once again featuring small buy-ins ranging from €150 to €300. After a first stop in Gukan-Mestras in February, the next NutsR Poker Festival will be held at the Pasino in La Grande-Motte at the end of May.

PokerStars Open: A new European circuit launched by the red spade operator with eight destinations on the program: Campione, Dublin, Monaco, Namur, Malaga, Barcelona, Manchester, and Cannes from December 8th to 14th. The €1,100 (or £1,100) Main Event will offer a €1 million (or £1 million) guarantee.

Riviera Monthly Festival (with Winamax): A new addition to FiveBet, the Riviera is aimed at modest bankrolls with tournaments ranging from €100 to €250. Next stop at the Ribeauvillé Casino from March 19, with online satellites already available on Winamax.
