In a field that brought together a total of 397 players, it was local man Xavier Dupuy who took the trophy on home soil !

The hometown player made a strong statement by claiming the first title of the festival after an inspired comeback. Ruthless, determined, and on home turf: Xavier Dupuy delivered a masterful performance to take down the Warm-Up of the 2025 Winamax Poker Tour Grand Final. Facing a tough field of 396 entries, he kept his cool and turned his third attempt into absolute victory.

A local hero in peak form

Originally from Salon-de-Provence, Xavier Dupuy didn’t have to travel far to earn this title. Just a 30-minute drive to the Pasino GRAND in Aix-en-Provence — a venue he knows like the back of his hand… and with good reason: 11 of his 12 Hendon Mob results were recorded there. It’s safe to say he was truly playing at home, and it showed.

An air traffic controller in the French Air Force, Xavier is used to staying calm under pressure — a trait that proved crucial at the final table, especially in those key moments when everything can swing.

"This is my place, my club, my room, my landmarks," he said, visibly moved as he lifted the trophy. And the 30-year-old didn’t settle for a simple local score: he pocketed €18,900 — the biggest prize of his career — after beating 396 entrants.

And yet, nothing was guaranteed. "I fired three bullets — two on Day 1A and the third on the 1B Turbo. I guess it was the right call!" he laughed. A perseverance that paid off, showing a steely mindset. Where others might have quit after two failed attempts, he pushed through, analyzed, adjusted — and found the winning formula.

This victory has a special flavor: it comes just a few months after his first-ever title, right here in the same venue, during last September’s French Championships in a €300 event, where he won €8,000. This time, it’s more than double. A steady rise built on patience and focus.

Coincidence or destiny? Xavier had just finished renovating his apartment with his partner. The trophy will soon sit on a brand-new shelf. And the money? "It’ll help pay for the renovations, the furniture… and let me play the Main Event on Thursday with a bit more freedom!"

Because yes, this journey is far from over. Boosted by this win and full of well-earned confidence, Xavier will approach the Main Event with peace of mind, strength, and in a setting that suits him perfectly. At home, with the cards on his side, he might just be one of the major contenders at this 2025 WiPT Grand Final.
