He didn’t leave a single crumb behind. In a thrilling Main Event, Alsatian player Louis Michaud claimed victory with authority, never flinching at the final table and sealing the deal without any deal, taking home over €43,000. A clean, clear, undisputed win.
Louis Michaud fought hard for the title, with flair and composure
Throughout the tournament, Michaud demonstrated cold-blooded control and impressive consistency. Already strong on Day 2, he took the lead approaching the final table and never let go. The crowd, gathered around the stage at Casino Barrière de Ribeauvillé, witnessed a true poker masterclass.
The Barrière Poker Tour is clearly back in the spotlight. With 475 entries for this €600 Main Event, a prizepool of €237,120, and an electric yet friendly atmosphere, Ribeauvillé delivered a show that exceeded expectations. And while the amateurs gave it their all, it was a local player — discreet yet seasoned — who rose above the rest.
Louis Michaud, a regular on the circuit still in search of a major title, handled the pressure perfectly. As chip leader entering the final table, he tightened his game, observed, struck at the right moments, and most importantly, stayed cool until the end. No deal, no split: “I wanted to win — really win,” he admitted backstage, eyes still full of adrenaline.
Facing him, Abdel Boulahid, the last big name left in the field, tried his best to resist. But despite a final table full of traps, contrasting styles, and a demanding structure, no one could stop Michaud, who locked in €43,320 for his outstanding performance. His name now stands tall in the recent history of the BPT.
Special mention to François Tosques as well, who marked a solid return to top form with a great 3rd-place finish. And to Aurélie Reard, who once again confirmed her excellent live circuit momentum.
Strong field, clean play, a warm and local vibe, and a high-level battle: BPT 2025 is officially underway, and Ribeauvillé made a strong statement.
