DSO NAMUR 2025 : Romain Le Dantec dominates Day 1D and takes the lead!

The DeepStack Open Namur 2025 is in full swing and, at the end of Day 1D, Romain Le Dantec has taken the lead with an impressive stack, putting the pressure on his future opponents.

From the very first hands, the competition was intense, with fierce confrontations and spectacular moves setting the tone for this fourth starting day. 25 players secured their ticket to Day 2, bringing the total number of survivors to 94 after half of the starting flights were completed.

 

A festival in full swing

 

 

With 108 new entries for this Day 1D, the provisional attendance of the DSO Namur 2025 has reached 402 entrants, confirming the excitement around this festival, which guarantees a prize pool of €400,000. The competition was tough throughout the 13 levels of play, and the final quarter-hour was marked by a series of key eliminations.

Xavier Sitruk experienced a heartbreaking end to his day, being eliminated in two phases, while David Grilli was knocked out with Ace-8 against a pair of eights from Lucky Luciano. François Petitjean finished his excellent run by eliminating Emile Custinne, dominating his Ace-9 with Ace-King in a crucial preflop all-in. Meanwhile, Rami Awad put pressure on David Osumba after previously taking a massive pot from him earlier in the level.

But the man of the day was Romain Le Dantec, who bagged an impressive 564,000 chips, making him the undisputed chip leader of the tournament. Behind him, Chris Rubbini (400,000) and Daniel Nicu (368,000) complete the provisional podium, followed closely by Rami Awad (350,000) and François Petitjean (333,000). Other notable qualifiers include Damien Di Pasquale, Gaspard Querillacq, Patrick Prijot, and Miro Alilovic, all ready to battle for the rest of the tournament.

The festival continues this Thursday from 2 PM, with Day 1E featuring 13 levels of 40 minutes each, along with 9 levels of late registration for those looking to join the action. Then, at 9 PM, Day 1F kicks off, a turbo flight with 20-minute levels.

Meanwhile, the conclusion of the DSO Gold €2,200 event promises another great spectacle, with top circuit players vying for a prestigious title.

With four more starting days to go, the road to victory is still long, but one thing is certain: Romain Le Dantec has made a strong statement and is clearly aiming for the title. The battle is just beginning!
