Surpassing 1710 participants to win his first WSOPC ring and a prize of \$368,380, French player Florian Pesce managed to impose himself in a casino where the excitement was at its peak this week!
A first crowning achievement for a first piece of WSOP jewelry!
Pesce's journey in this tournament was marked by twists and turns worthy of the greatest poker stories. From the first day, a lost hand left him with only 4,000 chips, a tiny fraction of the starting stack. However, showing remarkable resilience, he rebuilt his stack to eventually dominate the final table. This exceptional performance also earned him a spot in the prestigious WSOP 2025 Tournament of Champions.
The tournament saw an unusual interruption when, on Day 2, an individual knocked over three tables, scattering chips and cards, and causing a two-hour pause. Despite this setback, the tournament staff managed to reconstruct the stacks, allowing the game to resume and the competition to continue under fair conditions.
Florian Pesce’s heads-up victory over Jarrett Mullins at the WSOP-C Cherokee is a perfect illustration of perseverance but especially of holding on despite a very unfavorable situation. His rise from an almost non-existent stack to the title of champion will remain etched in the annals of French and international poker.
